Rachel Thomas
Rachel Thomas is Chief Curator of the Hayward Gallery at the Southbank Centre. Thomas has curated International large scale group exhibitions on themes of ecofeminism, spirituality, climate change in art, such as the critically acclaimed Dear Earth; 2023, with Otobong Nkanaga, Agnes Denes, Hito Steyerl, Cornelia Parker and broadening the representation of BIPOC +LGBTQIA artists.
Thomas has gained international recognition for acclaimed international group shows including: As Above, So Below, portals, visions, spirits & mystics (2017) and solo surveys of artists including Nan Goldin, Etel Adnan, Yvonne Rainer, Eleanor Antin, Frank Bowling and Sophie Calle. Among her many accolades, Rachel has organised prestigious projects at international biennales including the curation of the ninth Lyon Biennale with Hans Ulrich Obrist.
Thomas was awarded a Millennium Fellowship to produce papers on global frameworks of contemporary art practice at Tate Britain, London. Rachel Thomas is a respected scholar who is a fellow at Trinity College Dublin and a contributor to its MA/MFA Art in the Contemporary World programme. She was awarded a Museum Association Millennium Fellowship and is pursuing research into mental health within contemporary art and work of Ithell Colquhoun the revisionist art history of female abstraction and spirituality.
She is interested in indigenous artists, nature and the environment. Rachel is a prolific writer, and speaker, with Tedxoxford and having published widely in journals, exhibition catalogues and art history publications.
Dr. Amy Hale
Dr. Amy Hale is an Atlanta-based writer, curator and critic. She has a PhD in Folklore and Mythology from UCLA and her research interests include esoteric history, art, culture, women and Cornwall. She has written widely on artist and occultist Ithell Colquhoun, notably the biography Ithell Colquhoun: Genius of the Fern Loved Gully (Strange Attractor) and the collection Sex Magic: Diagrams of Love, (Tate Publishing), and is currently editing a selection of Colquhoun’s esoteric essays for Strange Attractor (2024) She is the editor of Essays on Women in Western Esotericism: Beyond Seeresses and Sea Priestesses (Palgrave 2022) and has contributed essays for Tate, Ignota Press, Burlington Contemporary, Correspondences Journal, Camden Arts Centre, Art UK, Arusha Galleries, Heavenly Records and Spike Island, Bristol.
She is currently a curator and host for the internationally loved Viktor Wynd’s Last Tuesday Society lecture series and is an Honorary Research Fellow with Falmouth University in Cornwall.
Sacha Llewellyn
Sacha Llewellyn is an independent writer and exhibition curator. In 2022 she founded RAW with curator Maudji Mendel. She specialises in inter-war British art, with a particular focus on women. In 2017 she was awarded the William M.B. Berger Prize for British Art History.
She has curated, co-curated and contributed to exhibitions at numerous museums and galleries, especially on women artists: ‘Evelyn Dunbar’ at ‘Pallant House Gallery (2015)’, ‘Winifred Knights’ at Dulwich Picture Gallery (2016), ‘Fifty British Women Artists 1900-1950′ at Leeds University Art Gallery (2019), ‘British Women Surrealists’ at Dulwich Picture Gallery (2020), Surrealism au Feminin at the Musee de Montmartre (2023) and David Hockney & Piero at the National Gallery (2024)
Ananya Mukhopadhyay
Ananya is London Director of Ames Yavuz, a commercial gallery with spaces in Singapore, Sydney and London. The gallery participates in a number of global art fairs, biennales, and festivals every year, and represents an expanding roster of first nation Australian artists and South East Asian artists.Prior to this role, Ananya was director of the London gallery for Magnum Photos, Studio Director for Jadé Fadojutimi and Adel Abdessemed, and worked at leading commercial galleries and auction houses including Gagosian and Sotheby’s.
Ananya holds an MA in History of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art, and obtained both an MPhil in Business Management and a BA in Modern Languages from Trinity College, University of Cambridge.
Eva Oh
Eva Oh, also known as ‘Mistress Eva’, is an award-winning International Dominatrix. Her unique career began in 2011, when she left an unfulfilling corporate job to train at the renowned Salon Kitty’s dungeons. She is the recipient of a Sexual Freedom Award and was also the face of the German Fetish Ball. Her work, writing and views on BDSM and sex work have been featured in high-profile media that include Washington Post, WIRED, Rolling Stone, Entrepreneur, Newsweek, VICE, i-D and DAZED. Eva hosts workshops and events to promote the de-stigmatisation of BDSM culture worldwide; and she has spoken on panels on sexuality at Burning Man USA, Pink Fest Singapore and Wonderfruit Thailand. She also offers a mentoring and consultancy service to support those with an interest in her industry.
Maudji Mendel
Maudji is a freelance antique dealer and curator whose area of interest lies within questions around gender, sexuality and identity. They co-founded the RAW platform with Sacha Llewellyn, which subsequently gained charitable status. They now run the charity on a daily basis, and are currently expanding the artist sponsorship program, prize and as well as managing the art collection and international loans. They founded the antique jewellery dealership, Mendel’s Antique Jewellery in 2024.
